Ok, so me and my friend C.W. are formulating a plan to try and get Team Starkid on Glee.  We've clearly got too much free time on our hands haha.  However, we've got a tumblr set up, so if you'd like to support us, follow at gleekid1713/tumblr.com and message us about helping.  We'd greatly appreciate it.  Also, we're in the process of making a twitter, so once that's set up, I'll post the name for that as well.  If there are any GleeKid fans, please comment or anything.

life as a Starship Ranger

As you all know, life as a Starship Ranger can be filled with adventures.  However, mine is usually not haha.  Right now, I'm just watching Starship while babysitting.  Oh, joy. haha.  Anyways, not much is happening in my life now, so I guess I'll end this post now.

Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy Fowler

Nothing ever moves in a straight line in Karen Joy Fowler's fiction, and in her latest, the complex dance of modern love has never been so devious or so much fun.

Six Californians join to discuss Jane Austen's novels. Over the six months they meet, marriages are tested, affairs begin, unsuitable arrangements become suitable, and love happens. With her finely sighted eye for the frailties of human behavior and her finely tuned ear for the absurdities of social intercourse, Fowler has never been wittier nor her characters more appealing. The result is a delicious dissection of modern relationships.

Dedicated Austenites will delight in unearthing the echoes of Austen that run through the novel, but most readers will simply enjoy the vision and voice that, despite two centuries of separation, unite two great writers of brilliant social comedy.

I realize the above summary sucks haha.  However, the book itself is actually good and entertaining.  I'd give it 4/5 stars.

Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn

Ella Minnow Pea is a girl the age of 18 who begins the book by writing a series of letters to her cousin Tassie, who has journeyed off-island to the Village. Her first letter explains her concern for what is happening to the cenotaph of the founder of their lofty language, Nevin Nollop. His famous sentence is tiled on the monument on the island of Nollop to exhibit its existence. As the story proceeds, various letters begin falling off the cenotaph. From there on the five High Council members decide that the aforementioned falling of the tile is a sign from Nollop that these letters should not be used any longer. They see it as a challenge to better the citizens of Nollop and anyone who is to disobey these laws will have infractions to deal with. "We slowly conclude that without language, without culture--the two are inextricably bound--existence itself is at stake" (Malin 153). Through this interpretation and other events which take place during this novel, a series of word-plays and crazy actions by citizens form this book into an entertaining piece of literature for all.

I absolutely loved this book.  We had to read it for our AP English class, but I would've read it anyway. My friends and I loved it so much, that we are actually trying to do it as well hahaha.  Wish us luck with that :P.I'd recommend this to anyone, for sure. 5 out of 5 stars.

paper towns by john green

Quentin Jacobsen has spent a lifetime loving the magnificently adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman from afar. So when she cracks open a window and climbs back into his life–dressed like a ninja and summoning him for an ingenious campaign of revenge–he follows.
After their all-nighter ends and a new day breaks, Q arrives at school to discover that Margo, always an enigma, has now become a mystery. But Q soon learns that there are clues–and they’re for him. Urged down a disconnected path, the closer he gets, the less Q sees of the girl he thought he knew.

In my humble opinion, this book was well written.  It kept my short attention span occupied, however the ending did disappoint me personally.  I won't ruin it for you, should you decide to read it yourselves, but I was hoping for a more dramatic ending.  I'd definitely give it 5 out of 5 stars though.

The awkward turtles I have had were with J.B.  Once was in the lunchroom when me and my friends were leaving to go to a classroom; he was staring at me while I was walking towards the doors.  This is extremely weird because he still has a girlfriend.  Also, a few days before school started, he texted me out of the blue asking if I was still with T.E.It was soooooooooo weird considering they're actually close friends and whatnot and me and J.B.are hardly acquaintances anymore.  I sincerely hope that he's not still harboring a crush on me and that this is the last time you will read his initials

life as a StarshipRanger

So, it's the third week of school and I've already been late on a project *shrugs*At least it wasonly newspaper and not English or Physics.  My life isn't all that exciting lately, and I've only had a few awkward turtles lately because T.E. and T.C. went to different schools.  HOWEVER, that's for another post...

I've come to the conclusion that with C.B., this is the closest I have ever been to what the hopeless romantics such as myself refer to as love.  The thing is, we aren't even  planning for the future.  We're just taking it day by day, hoping for the best.  I think that's the beauty of it; we aren't talking about being together forever or being married with kids, a house, jobs and a mortgage.  It's like we're content with just talking to each other, being in each other's presence.  There aren't limitations or things hanging over our heads, just us.  Well, this is getting sappier than I had hoped, haha.  Perhaps I should stop before I get carried away and anyone out there reading this gets fed up with my rambling.  On the other hand(because there are always two sides), it is my blog, haha.  So, here is one last thing for me to say about me and C.B. and then I'll stop for now at least :P  I really hope that this time we can make it last, during the school year.  Cause honestly, I worry about it; he's a senior and just got a job, I'm a junior and working on getting a job.  What if we can't work it out, what if it ends up like last year where it's like we weren't even friends? I can't speak for him directly, but this time, I'm in deeper, I've invested more in this.

OK! BEFORE YOU READ THIS ONE, READ THE ONE BEFORE IT!
Sooo where left off, me and C.B. decided to go out again. We went out, but my parents didn't know and thought I was with someone else. My dad saw this text from C.B. and they freaked. So then my dad called C.B. and had him come over to talk; it was the most frightened I have ever been for someone else: I kid you not. Then, everything was fine for a while. Until my dad checked my phone randomly and saw some texts from C.B., one of which was "!10/10 would bang" in reference to me. My parents freaked again, my mom threatened to put me on the pill and they agreed we were moving too fast.(which we aren't considering the fact that we only went out on an actual date once and we haven't even kissed)  Even with all of these occurences or bumps with our relationship, I have to admit that I do have really strong feelings for him and I know he has strong feelings for me too. I'll continue with another post!

Hope that's the right number haha. Ok sooooo for about a month, I went out with T.E. from the beginning of June to the beginning of July. That was a huge mistake, and I honestly went out with him at first just to give him a chance. Then I ende up having feelings for him, but I realized I still really liked C.B. and broke up with T.E.(not to mention the fact that T.E. was like a flipping sex addict or something...awkward turtle...) Then, work started, and me and C.B. were cool and were just friends. Then my friend M.L. was like "he still totally likes you obviously" and I didn't believe her, so she asked him and he told me that he still had feelings for me too but couldn't be in a relationship blah blah blah. Then about an hour later, he was like "I changed my mind, screw it, will you go out with me?" and obviously I was like yes! So then we went out, but this is getting kinda long(that's what she said) so I will make another post!

Well, it's the beginning of yet another year of higher learning here at Renaissance High School.  My schedule's pretty difficult. World History, Physics, Pre Calculus, Spanish 3, AP English, Newspaper, and AP Macro Economics.  I must be insane right??? hahaha pretend that was funny :P So I've got plenty to tell you about what's happening to me in terms of my so called love life! Yay for awkward turtles!
